Dear ETFO Durham Teachers' Local members,
In an effort to communicate with you on a regular basis and support you in the work that you do, the local has established this, our first-ever, blog (aka "Weblog"). We're excited about the opportunity this will provide us, each weekday, to post information regarding your collective agreement provisions, working condition issues that frequently arise, upcoming events and workshops, and much, much more. We hope you'll come back and check out the new blog often.
I hope that you've been enjoying World Teacher's Day today and that you've taken some time to celebrate the incredible work you do everyday! If you've not already done so, you might want to check out http://www.etfo.ca/ to hear the radio ad that has run on many GTA radio stations today, as well as the latest on ETFO's efforts to ensure that qualified, university trained teachers are teaching full-day, every-day kindergarten programs in Ontario's schools.
In celebration of World Teacher's Day, your local executive invites you to join us for a Welcome Back Wine & Cheese at our local office (603 Palace Street, Whitby) on Wednesday, October 7th, from 3:30-6:00 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend. There will be no meeting or speeches - a donation to our Thanksgiving food drive would be greatly appreciated. See the flyer on your ETFO bulletin board for more information and for a map to the event.
Again, Happy World Teacher's Day!
Yours in solidarity,
Rachel
