There are many ways to show how much we appreciate the work of our colleagues, from something as simple as a smile and a compliment, to a more formal demonstration of appreciation, such as nominating a teaching colleague for the ETFO Durham Local Educators' Award. This is the Local's annual award, given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to education. Nomination forms were sent out in September and are due to the local office by 3:00 p.m. this Friday, October 16th.
To nominate a deserving colleague, complete the nomination form and attach it to a letter of support for your nominee. In your letter, you can include details such as: teaching experience, achievements, union involvement, involvement in professional activities, etc. The successful nominee will be honoured at our Annual Dinner at Deer Creek Golf Club on November 5th.
